GigSafe Product Updates: September 2026
This month was about staying ahead of expiring documents, making settlements more flexible, and giving you a clearer view of contractor activity. Here’s everything that shipped in September.
Recollection, Redesigned: Contractors Can Tackle Steps in Any Order
Contractors used to have to complete recollection steps in a set order. That meant a document expiring next month could block them from reaching one that had already expired. The recollection screen has been redesigned so every expiring or expired step appears together under an “Action needed” section, with the most urgent at the top.
Each step shows a one-line instruction on what to submit and a clear deadline label, like “Expires in 5 days,” “Expired · Sep 12,” or “Optional.” A banner at the bottom shows the nearest deactivation date, and it turns red once that date is within 14 days. After submitting, the step moves to “Under review” and the contractor goes straight back to their list.

New: The Priority Queue for Expiring Documents
Chasing down expiring documents just got easier. The new Priority Queue, in its own tab on the Monitoring page next to Upcoming Expirations, lists every contractor with an expiring or expired document, soonest first.
Click any contractor to see their details, which documents are expiring, and their full outreach history. You can log a call, text, or note right there to keep your team in sync on who’s already been contacted. (Logging a contact is a record only. It doesn’t send anything to the contractor.)
Filter by status, onboarding flow, tags, or expiry window, or use “Exclude contacted” to hide anyone your team reached in the last day, 3, 7, or 14 days. The queue opens to documents expiring in the next 30 days and only shows contractors who’ve finished onboarding, so you can focus on the people who matter most right now.

Additional Settlements, On Your Schedule
Need to pay contractors before your next regular settlement? You can request an additional settlement.
Driver deductions can be waived, so contractors receive the full amount. A processing fee will be charged to your account. Additional settlements are subject to account eligibility and usage limits.
Choose how fast contractors receive their settlement. Additional settlements go out through standard processing by default. If you’d like funds to arrive right away, you can choose instant settlement to the contractor’s debit card, and the instant settlement fee applies.
Settlement stubs now show the settlement period. Contractors can now see which work period each settlement covers, right alongside the settlement date.
To request an additional off-cycle settlement or ask about pricing, reach out to your Account Manager.
Exports That Tell You More
See exactly when the last activity happened. Your Onboarding export now includes a separate column with the date and time of each contractor’s last activity, matching what you see on the dashboard.
Group exported documents by contractor. Document exports can now be grouped by each contractor’s external ID instead of by step, which makes jobs like insurance renewal audits much simpler.
A Clearer Picture on Contractor Details
Every submission stays visible. If a contractor’s newest submission for a step fails, you’ll still see their earlier submissions, so you can tell when a valid document is still on file.
Steps appear in a consistent order. Steps on the contractor and onboarding details views now always display in the same order as your onboarding flow.
Un-rejecting a contractor keeps their history. Bringing back a contractor whose onboarding was rejected used to wipe their previous steps. Their history is now archived and kept, so your reporting stays accurate.
Clearer Email Changes
The contractor email change window now includes an information banner explaining what happens when you update an address, rounding out the email editing feature we launched in August.
