PDX Delivers is a fleet-replacement company for the automotive industry, specializing in three verticals — OEM tires, distributors, and aftermarket parts — alongside a set of specialized divisions. Sir Lancelot Logistics runs temperature-controlled and pharmaceutical cell-and-gene critical shipments out of the Philadelphia area; Eagle handles food-bank and dialysis-supply deliveries into homes across Florida; and Route Messengers covers optical, dental, and small-parcel work. In total, PDX manages roughly 1,200 independent contractors and 250 employee drivers across two operating models and eight regions, including Canada.
For years, a large share of its office staff spent their days on manual work with it’s previous contracting management system — chasing down applications, collecting documents, and tracking compliance driver by driver — with additional vendors bolted on to fill the gaps. Occupational accident (OcAc) coverage came bundled into provider fees, at a markup that was hard to see.

A GigSafe demo sold him as he saw GigSafe pull ahead on architecture, technology, and AI, but the deciding factor was structural. GigSafe let PDX unbundle its occupational accident coverage and bring its own insurance program. Once his team sanity-checked the platform and his insurance provider confirmed OcAc could be handled separately, the decision was, in his words, a no-brainer.
Just as important was the working relationship. Frankel points to a GigSafe team that doesn’t treat PDX’s ideas as one-off tickets, but recognizes when a PDX idea could improve the platform for every customer — a partnership that makes PDX feel less like a client and more like a co-developer.

Moving to GigSafe cut PDX’s admin and processing costs by roughly half with its current contracting management system. With automation absorbing much of the manual work, PDX shifted team members off repetitive back-office tasks and onto higher-value work. And with driver vetting handled to a standard that holds up in an increasingly litigious environment, PDX strengthened its risk posture even as it scaled.

With modern tooling, an insurance structure it controls, and a leaner back office, PDX is positioned to scale across its divisions and regions — with GigSafe operationalizing the compliance and payments engine underneath.
