GigSafe Product Updates: August 2026

This month, we focused on cutting down the back-and-forth with support and putting more information directly in your hands. Here's everything that shipped in August.

Fix Contractor Emails Yourself: No Support Ticket Needed

Got a contractor's email wrong, or need to update it after they switch addresses? You can now edit a contractor's email address directly from their details page. We'll validate the new address, flag it if a background check is already in progress on the old one, and automatically send a confirmation to both the old and new email so everyone stays in the loop.

Curious whether a contractor is set up with a debit card or bank account, or when they last updated their payment info? Click the eye icon on a contractor's Payment Step in the Customer Dashboard to see the payment type, last 4 digits, and last-updated date. No need to ask our support team.

A More Flexible Way to Export Your Data

"Export Table" is now "Export Data," and it's a lot more useful. The new export modal shows exactly which columns and filters are applied, how many contractors will be included, and gives you a one-click "Max" option to grab your full dataset at once, instead of exporting in batches of around 100 rows at a time.

Better Table Controls Across Your Dashboards

Your Onboarding, Master Contractors Onboarding, Contractor List, and Payments tables now come with a full Column Manager: show or hide columns, pin them to the left or right, sort, and drag-and-drop to reorder, all saved to your account and synced across your devices. Tables also scroll horizontally now instead of squeezing columns unreadably thin when you have a lot of them showing.

We've also added a few specific improvements to these dashboards:

Sort by expiration date. On the Contractor List's Active tab, you can now sort contractors by how soon their documents expire, across your entire list, not just the current page.

Filter by vehicle type. A new Vehicle Type column and filter make it easy to see, for example, how many Cargo Van drivers you have in a given city.

Date-range filters. Filter by "Invited At" on the Onboarding page and "Date Onboarded" on the Contractor List to zero in on specific time periods.

Know what happened last, and when. A new Last Activity column on both the Contractor List and Onboarding tables shows "X days ago," with a hover tooltip giving the full detail on what happened and exactly when.

More Notice Before a Contractor Deactivates

Our Upcoming Deactivations email used to only flag contractors deactivating that same day. It now also includes contractors deactivating tomorrow, giving you more time to step in before it happens.

More Control Over Reactivation

Previously, once a deactivated contractor fixed whatever made them non-compliant, they'd automatically reactivate, even if you wanted them to stay deactivated. There's now an "Automatic Re-Activation" toggle on each contractor. Leave it on for the familiar automatic behavior, or turn it off to keep a contractor deactivated until someone on your team reactivates them manually.

New: A Certificates Tab for Contractors

Contractors now have a dedicated Certificates tab in their portal, right alongside their Documents tab. They can see the issue date for each certificate and download it or preview it as a PDF in a new browser tab.

A Small Naming Update: "Payments" is Now "Settlements"

You may notice that references to "Payments" throughout the platform, in labels, text, and invoices, now read "Settlements." This is a wording change only (driven by the fact that 1099 contractors aren't technically "paid" a wage in the traditional sense); nothing about how payments actually work has changed.
